  • Senior Consultant with the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), providing support to research, policy development and implementation of reintegration support (2023 – present);
  • Senior Expert to finalize EU’s Conflict Sensitivity Guidance Notes for Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) and Security Sector Reform (SSR) (2023);
  • Research for, and drafting of, a UNDP guide on community-based reintegration (CBR) support (2020/22);
  • Assisting the EU in the drafting of its new Strategic Concept for support to DDR activities (2020/21);
  • Member of the team drafting for the EU its proposed action in support of the implementation of the August 2019 Peace Accord in Mozambique (DDR and reconciliation) (2019);
  • Assisting UN agencies in revising the guidance on reintegration support in the UN Integrated Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Standards (IDDRS) (2019);
  • Senior Advisor at BICC, Bonn (2018);
  • Team leader of Rehabilitation Support Team in Somalia (2015/16);
  • Researcher and lead author of World Bank/UNHCR study on Forced Displacement in the Great Lakes Region (Africa) (2014);
  • Drafting the African Union (AU) Operational Guidelines on National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Frameworks (2013/14);
  • Principal Capacity Building Mentor of the South Sudan National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (2013);
  • Teaching (training and/or lecturing) in Nepal, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain (2012/13);
  • Prepared the business plan on Community Security and Justice for a large social enterprise (2012);
  • Leading a ‘lessons learned’ process within the UN System in Nepal (2012);
  • Tutor of Internet-based UN course on the UN Integrated Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Standards (IDDRS) (2012);
  • Facilitation and strategic/technical advice on rehabilitation issues in Nepal (2011/12);
  • Lead author of study on Community Safety and Security in Karamoja (Uganda) (2011);
  • Advisor to the Government of South Sudan regarding its new Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) policy and strategy (2011); and
  • Team leader for the Southern Sudan component of the independent Review of the Sudan Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Programme (2010).
